Toms Kampars is an architect and multidisciplinary designer based in Riga, Latvia. He holds a Bachelor's and Diploma degree from Riga Technical University (2009-2015). Toms has also completed postgraduate studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (2016-2020) under the guidance of renowned professors, including Kazuyo Sejima (SANAA), the Japanese Pritzker Prize winner, and Cristina Díaz Moreno & Efrén García Grinda (amid.cero9). Throughout his academic journey, he has gained valuable professional experience across Europe, working for prominent firms such as Henning Larsen (Copenhagen, 2013-2014), Heatherwick Studio (London, 2014), Sarma Norde Architects (Riga, 2015-2016), and Delugan-Meissl Associated Architects (Vienna, 2017-2020).

In addition to his collaborations with renowned architecture firms, Toms has also worked with the research group [applied] Foreign Affairs (Vienna & Accra, 2018-2020) to develop and complete a rural marketplace in Ghana. Toms, along with the team TCL, recently presented the Latvian Pavilion at the esteemed 18th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia.

In his work, Toms places significant emphasis on understanding both the physical and intangible aspects of the context. This understanding translates into his designs, creating spaces that evoke emotions and possess a distinctive atmosphere.
